MSU Libraries awarded a Muslim Journeys Bookshelf Grant

National Endowment for the Humanities/American Library Association has awarded the grant to MSU Libraries (via Deborah Margolis, librarian and MSP core faculty member), along with the East Lansing and Okemos Public Libraries.

The libraries were each awarded a collection of books and DVDs about Muslim experiences.

There will be three film screenings, with discussions led by MSU Muslim Studies Program faculty: 

Thurs Feb 28, 7:30pm   •   Wham! Bam! Islam! (the creating the first superhero comic book characters from the Muslim World); Location: MSU Main Library, Fourth Floor - W449. Discussion with Salah D. Hassan (English)

Thurs April 25, 6:30pm  •  Koran By Heart  (HBO documentary film - http://www.hbo.com/documentaries/koran-by-heart). Location: Okemos Public Library. Discussion with Mohammad Khalil (Religious Studies)

Tea in a Harem, Fall 2013, Location: East Lansing Public Library
