Center for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies

Since its founding in 1964, the Center for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (CERES) has provided language education and outreach support to the mid-Michigan community through partnerships with more than 54 institutes of higher education in Europe, Russia and Eurasia.

Asian Studies Center

Founded in 1962, the Asian Studies Center is distinguished by its comprehensive attention to East, Central, South, and Southeast Asia in the design of its curriculum, focus of faculty research, and scope of outreach activities.

Center for African Studies

Founded in 1960, the African Studies Center has played a key role in facilitating partnerships with African institutions, lowering barriers between students and faculty, and bringing talent from across campus into productive cooperation. The Center's strength is based upon the more than 160 MSU faculty who provide broad research, teaching, and service on the continent.

Center for Gender in Global Context (GenCen)

The Center for Gender in Global Context (GenCen) is an interdisciplinary center in International Studies and Programs focused on gender, feminist, and women's studies. Its affiliated faculty and students study how people from diverse racial, ethnic, national, and sexual backgrounds live in and engage with the world and how processes of global change affect gender relations locally, nationally, and internationally.

International Studies and Programs

ISP is the hub for international research, teaching and outreach at MSU. As a university-level office under the leadership of an associate provost and dean, ISP supports international activities throughout the institution, working to mobilize MSU's research and scholarship, enhance study abroad and other educational programs, form and strengthen international partnerships, and welcome and support international visitors, scholars and students.
